Angela Taylor, LCSW: If you could choose to be loving, joyful and playful, why not do that? As a psychotherapist in private practice and yoga instructor, I help people heal their relationships - with loved ones and with themselves and their own bodies - so they can learn to be open to and passionately embrace the abundance of potential joy and love in life. When we learn to lean lovingly into rather than run away from our injuries, fears, heartbreaks and mistakes, we find peace, contentment and even joy. We can't live without the possibility of vulnerability, and there are risks in life, but we can learn how to respond differently to fear. We can learn to talk to ourselves in a loving way, to approach imperfections with kindness and to look at the world with curiosity instead of judgment. And when we do this, we find joy. I love to watch people open to the truth of themselves - to embrace their passions, honor their hungers and generously share their love. Life can be lived fully. And your job is to live your life as You. My job is to live my life as Me. As for me, I choose to be brave, to be patient and to be kind. I choose to laugh and play. And I choose love and joy.
